bora's buried buddy

(delayed transmission, day 3...)

April 21, 2005

waking up late, i thought i had to check out of my room, since i was only scheduled for 3 days & 2 nights, but willy's was able to extend my stay in my current room! so i went for my free breakfast (tapsilog), then meandered into the red coconut beach sans storm this time. i saw bambi swimming in the sea so i waved. she then ran to the shore and tripped a bit (note to self, delete the tripping part)... ;)

after a while, i asked her if she could bury me with under the sand, something i've never tried in a beach! and what a better place to be buried, surrounded by polvoron sand! he3x! of course, i expected her nephews & nieces to join in since burying a person in the sand is interesting to say the least, but alas, the sun was too hot and bambi was the only one throwing sand on me while the kids were swimming around. poor bambi though, she got burnt by the sun since she was burying me at around 10am, while the sand shielded me from the rays (except for my face though, that's why i had a slight reverse raccoon look for a while). i guess bambi's tan desire applies here: "be careful of what you wish for, it may come true..."

we had lunch at red coconut, forgot what we ate though. and since bambi was still burnt, she couldnt bear swimming w/ her burns... so i tagged along in bambi & her sister's shopping spree. then their family went to parasailing. since bambi was in the middle of being massaged by the manang-dala people, i couldnt leave her alone (no, it was *not* because ryan eigenmann was beside her... hrm3x...)... while waiting for her to finish, i grabbed an overpriced shawarma & went for a discounted DSL fix. bambi joined me afterwards and posted her live from boracay
& bora bloopers post. while waiting for the rest to finish parasailing, we went to d'mall to look for those irritatingly matching outfits that would piss everyone else off. we ended up buying matching board shorts & seahorse shirts (i had the shirt, she had a tank top, which was more expensive since hers wasn't on sale but mine was.... gets? he3x!).

we finally met up at mañanas for some very filling tacos which we had to eat pronto, since her tita arranged for another seafood fiesta at the dampa area. we planned on waiting for her sisters to make aya for drinks, so we waited in bambi's room w/ the kids' yaya hanging around as well. the call didnt come, so we just decided to hang at the room & watch the Bruce Lee Story (where we dubbed some of the fight dialogue) & Friends. i waited till she had to go to sleep, so i tucked her in and made my walk back to jonah's.

hmm, 2 more days to go! ambagal ba? he3x! :P

clinical cornballs

i unexpectedly visited the hospital this weekend. well, technically, not a hospital, more of a clinic. bambi had to go in because of "acute gastroenteritis and mild dehydration," although the cause of the stomach pain is still undetermined, since we had eaten practically the same food for the past week. she was attached to an IV drip, so i felt i had to be there. at any rate, bambi's narrative could be found here. my post is purely for the corresponding bloopers that come with this experience... he3x! :P

bambi: buti andito na kayo
lee: bakit?
bambi: kasi manonood na ako ng Wag Kukurap (GMA series based on the Philippine Ghost Stories books)
lee: bakit, takot ka?
bambi: uhum
lee: hmm, what if yon yung basahin kong bedtime story sa yo? he3x! :P
bambi: ay, you don't love me na... :(
========================================
lee: ayan, may pasalubong ako!
bambi: yay! ano?
lee: yung gusto mo, lucky me sotanghon, kahit labag sa kalooban... (long lucky story)
doc: um, she can't take sotanghon, it has cholesterol/fat....
bambi: di ko na kakainin...
lee: ay, you don't love me na... (ano ba talaga? kanina ayaw mo, tapos ngayon ayaw pa rin? :P)
========================================
bambi: yay, may pizza & chocolates ako!
lee: teka, bawal ka dyan diba?
bambi: no! that pizza & chocolate's mine!
lee: hon, gutom na ako, plus bawal sa yo...
bambi: waah!
lee: *mrmphmrmph?* (kinain na...)
========================================
bambi: (after sleeping) aray, ang sakit....
lee: bakit? (concerned)
bambi: masakit palang matulog sa hospital bed....
lee: talaga?? (looks at her incredulously. i had just slept on monoblock chairs)
bambi: oo, bakit, may scolio ka ba? matigas yung kama e....
lee: mas matigas sa monoblock?
bambi: (insistently) oo! hmph!
lee: (kung di lang libre yung pizza....)
========================================
bambi: pengeng tubig?
lee: eto.... (pours water in glass & hands it over to bambi)
bambi: thank you! (hands the glass back to lee)
lee: teka, di pa to ubos
bambi: hmm? ubos na.
lee: e kung itaob ko sya, matatapon yung tubig sa desk.
bambi: ayan. (splashes the minidroplets on lee's shirt.
lee: (kung di lang libre yung chocolates....)
========================================
bambi: ang sakit ng kabitan ng dextrose
lee: pero at least tumaba ka
bambi: talaga?
lee: oo! next time dapat may swero ka palagi! he3x! :P
bambi: hrm3x! (mental note: find IV needle & stick it in lee's eye...)

blustery bora bind

(a bit on the late side, but here goes...)

April 20, 2005

somebody must have forgotten to tell the sky that it's summer and i was in bora, because it was raining when i woke up in the morning!!! at least i had free breakfast at willy's (i think it was the continental breakfast w/ egg). i considered taking the trike, but since i'd be getting wet trying to get in & out of the trike, plus i'd get wet later that day anyway, what the heck right? besides, how far can it be? (famous last words.)

so i wrapped my shirt in a towel (since i'd have to wear a shirt later), then put in my stuff (my phones & other stuff), then put bambi's cigs in my pocket. wrong judgment: the rain was hard enough to soak through my board shorts.

(sidebar: bambi's cigs are w/ me since her fam doesn't know about her nasty little habit. i put it in my short pocket since if i had to unravel my towel in her hotel room w/ her fam there, i'd be in trouble too.)

so anyway, i trudged to red coconut, thinking it wouldn't be that far, so i wouldn't be that soaked. wrong judgment #2: i ended up like i swam through the ocean instead of walking beside it, with my towel to boot. i finally got to red coconut and she fortunately handed my a dry towel, alternately asking if i was ok and berating me for her soaked cigs... he3x! :P

so we waited for the rain to stop, then i got out for my first henna tattoo ever! i got a yin-yang w/ a sun & moon design on my right shoulder, while bambs got her 2nd tattoo for her stay: a dragon (ooh....). we then went to jammers for lunch and bambi was making kwento again, waving her arms in the air when she hit the still-wet yin-yang! fortunately, we were able to get a free touch-up for my tattoo, although her pinky finger was still blackish from getting the henna.... he3x! :P

we then ate at jammers for lunch, and i was saddened since i didnt manage my expectations on other people's description of the burgers and the burgers i ate. it was more like the burger machine type burger; not that a burger machine burger is bad, but it's certainly not an earth-shattering event. maybe i ordered the ordinary burger, they ordered the monster burgers...

we then went around to let the henna dry and went to jonah's for their shakes (finally mustering the patience to wait for the requisite 45 minutes) and chicken tacos. the waitress even snidely remarked that i should be the one paying for the tacos since we havent paid yet (bambi footed the bill). we were having our little world conversations, criticizing the coño kids roaming the area, when the commotion happened.

we initially saw this chick having an argument w/ her boyfriend (we assumed), shouting for him to "grow up" (yep, definitely a couple fight). after a few minutes, there were a bunch of guys shouting, and even a tanod (local neighborhood law enforcement officer) joined the scene. not listening on their conversation, but knowing trouble when i saw it, i nudged bambi for us to get out of there before it became a full-blown fight. it was only later when i found out for bambi (she heard the fight better from her side) that some guys might have been lugging around drugs, and the tanod was accosting them. oh well....

we went back to red coconut to swim around, then went to aria's for dinner for our anniversary dinner (we're on our 16th month!!!)! bambi wanted an embargo on pesto temporarily & the customary drinks, and i was thinking about ordering the sampler. of course, italian food being italian food, the prices were steep. so we ended up ordering creamy pasta & caesar salad (it's caesar w/ an AE, not cesar w/ an E; i should know, it's my name!). i wanted to order pizza, but we were full from the pasta & antipasta, plus the pizza was rather sizeable for a small resto. i also ordered my trusty san mig light, while bambi ordered her margarita. she drank the whole thing until she could taste the silicon particles binding the glass.... he3x! :P

we then went for a post-dinner drink @ mañanas, where bambi had two more margaritas & i had a bailey's & another san mig light. fortunately, i was still in control & bambi wasn't all that slinky, since the rest of her fam was there. also, her mom's reserve was balanced by her brother-in-law's mom's (typical pinoy relative connection) exuberance, plus the liveliness of her dad, her sisters & her brother-in-law. the night ended quite happily, with her being escorted by her siblings, and me trying to get see through my blurry contacts back to willy's at around midnight.
see you for the next bora post!
